Skype
Skype is a peer to peer Internet telephony network (IP telephony)
Skype works in the same way as the traditional telephone but with additional capabilities. This program lets you make calls to other Skype users for free and to call landlines using a credit voucher. It also offers videoconferencing and the option to chat to contacts contained in your list of friends via instantaneous text messages. Call logs and both quick and complete search options are available to easily find people to talk to in the relevant language, in addition to an option to change status (available, invisible, busy, etc.).
Skype allows you to:
Call another Skype user anywhere in the world for free.
See whoever you are talking to via free video conferencing.
Send SMS messages.
Set up group text chats allowing up to 100 people to converse or make conference call with up to 4 people.
Search the web with the Google toolbar (optional installation).
In order to use Skype you have to meet the following system requirements:
* Operative System: XP / 2000 / Vista / 7
Minimum System Requirements:
* Pentium® III 700 Mhz / RAM: 256 MB / An active Internet connection
